Not that you will ever use this billiard rule and would encourage feed back into its validity but the rules state that :
"When playing from in-hand, the cue-ball must be played out of baulk, but may be played against a cushion in baulk to hit a ball out of baulk."
Soooo, if you have 2 balls close to each other near a cushion out of baulk, but by playing direct you cant get the cannon, could you play into baulk and hit them as long as they are out of baulk (your clever if you understood that!!)
Mr D, would you like to comment on this rule, which could change the lives of millions???
:D
Interesting concept Joe. I can see why it is a little know rule - it's a finery that has never come to light in the Stute but I'm sure it will be discussed at some point. The opportunity seldom arises - there's usually a cannon to be had playing forwards and I cannot imagine a shot being easier to play off the baulk cushion, certainly at our level.
