Does any club fancy organising an out of season knockout or one off team snooker/billiard nights? I rarely practice out of season and come back rusty as hell...

I'm sure a summer comp would be of interest to many - both billiards and snooker. Thursdays would no doubt be best.

Could do. What sort of format do we want?
I'd suggest playing off the 06/07 season handicaps - as such only players with a handicap can enter.
I'd also suggest that whatever is done should conclude second week in July before school holidays kick in and we're all off on vacations. Maybe a random draw round robin billiards - you all get three half-hours sessions. Two points for a win, one for a draw and best eight from the qualifiers go through to a finals night at a designated club. I'll enquire about the possibility of a buffet at the stute for the finals night, with everyone participating chipping in two quid - money for the buffet and prizes then. Just an idea to kick off with on the billiards and I'm sure something similar could be done on the snooker.
