If we're talking about legendary breaks, better add Ronnie's fastest 147:

Absolutely fantastic that break and it encapsulates everything about how Alex played the game by the seat of his pants, their was a drama in every shot, lousy position, great potting and LOT'S of bottle, i remember watching that when it happened all those years ago, I've seen lots of good clearances over the years none better than that , i think kevin Roles did one slightly better but you would have to talk to DD about it

Just to play Devil's advocate, but surely it's not such a great break when he's running out of position all the time? I appreciate there are some great recovery shots, but a better break is one where the player makes it look easier, surely?

I disagree for me the degree of difficulty is not soley measured on positional play for it to be a great break, if all the balls are in the open and in potable positions and a player clears up with out losing position once that would to me be a good break, if how ever their is a couple of reds on the cushion the blues on the top rail and you have got to free the pink from a few surrounding reds ( a position i find myself in all the time  ) and you make the clearance then for me that moves into the great category B) B) B)

Only to miss the the final black up the cushion Nick!!

I aree about the quality of Higgins break. Every shot was quality under the severist pressure. And all with the cue action like the bloke from Crumpsall.
Sorry Brian! Didnt mean it. Your cue actions not that bad.

Notice how often Higgins checks the score board during the break, surely he cant be that bad at adding up

But take a look again at where the balls are when he starts the break.
There's only the red that he frees from the left cushion that was not in a pottable position for a professional when the break began.
