Just a quick note on Sunday nights Bet Fred Snooker Final at the ICC in Manchester, Myself, Nick Heaton and Chris Heywood thought we would kill a few hours by going to watch the match, which on paper should have been a really intriguing game between probably the undisputed best player that has ever lifted a snooker cue against a man widely regarded as a poor genius with the cue.
Unfortunately this turned out to be a one sided affair with Ronnie slaughtering Hendry 6-0, Hendry was never at the races and even John Reid would have beaten him, or Kevin, ohh and while we are on "Kevin", could I let it be now known he is to be called by his new title of "Champagne Charlie", not only was Kev, oops Charlie, rubbing shoulders with the audience he rubbed Ronnie and Stephen up too, or something like that, and was drinking champers in the VIP lounge.
Kev, if I would have known that what you get for runner up in the qtrs of the Butterworth I would have thrown it ;)
It was a pleasure to watch Ronnie play even if he was a scruffy git
Champagne Charlie answered the critics tonight with a cracking 95 break. Too much black on the red he missed I reckon. How did Steve and Nick get on in the pairs?
Our dreams were shattered at the Carlton last night beaten 2-1 by Colin and Joe, a match which seemed to go on for ever doubles not being the easiest game to keep concentration, one player made the difference and that was Joe we did`nt take our chances he did. Good luck in the next round.
